Colors To Al Star & Safari 2017

I'd like to see a green equivalent of the ocean blue. A dark(ish) deep but rich green is what I'd like to see (murky and olive both sound a bit drab to me, evergreen might be on the right track).

This is also the green I'm picturing in my head.

Lamy Al Star in metallic forest green for 2017!!

I like the idea of different clours for cap and barrel.

A Swedish one with yellow barrel, blue cap and yellow clip.

Brown. I need brown Lamy Al-Star. Also evergreen / murky green/ dark olive green would be welcome.

I totally second both these colors. I'm waiting for that brown Al-Star to come back into production, and an olive green would be my other choice!

  • 2 weeks later...

Ti-Star with titanium alloy barrel and cap? It would be more expensive, of course, because of the added cost of working with Ti, but I bet it would be successful as a limited run.

For colours I'd like a satin black safari and copper coloured al-star.

Another shade of fluorescent green would do it for me...

And some more ink that is too pale to actually use.

Perfect!

Alien Laser Beam Green for the Safari and Radioactive Uranium Green for the Al-Star.

And next year they can do Tree Frog Green and Bioluminescent Lichen Green!

Fountain pens forever and forever a hundred years fountain pens, all day long forever, forever a hundred times, over and over Fountain Pen Network Adventures dot com!

Damnit man, I should have followed this thread. Is the nib shaped just like a Safari nib? Thanx, Dick.

Some regards

Looks like it. It appears to be the nib from the imporium.

For the Safari: How about a combination of colours? Alternating bands or stripes perhaps, vertically?... horizontally?... diagonally? ... and then harmonic vs contrasting hues?

For the Al-Star: Absolutely the red, I mean RED, pure RED, stunning bright RED (forget subdued burgundy and all those red-ish tones)

Matte Terra Cotta/saffron with a gold nib option-- whoever said that,I think it's a terrific idea!

Gold nib is already an option.

Ask your shop.

Perhaps in countries closer to Germany it is. However, no shop in the US or Canada will give you a separate Z56 or Z57 14K Gold nib with a Safari or Al-Star as an option.

Very select few shops will sell the Z55 14K Gold nib separately, but once again, not an option with a Safari or Al-Star.

Lucky me with a shop which does about 20 miles from home....

They also have a webshop... it is La Couronne du Comte.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
