Hi pals.

Perhaps it is too early, but what color would you like to have the Lamy AL Star 2017, and what color for Lamy Safari 2017?

Cheers.

Kansho.

Nah, I don't think it's too early. I haven't given much thought to colors, but I'd like to see a gold nib on a Safari

Another shade of fluorescent green would do it for me...

And some more ink that is too pale to actually use.

Nul problemo. Will cost you about 75 Euro...or the equivalent in $$$

Brown. I need brown Lamy Al-Star. Also evergreen / murky green/ dark olive green would be welcome.

They did the coffee brown already which I very much like. I'd like to see a green equivalent of the ocean blue. A dark(ish) deep but rich green is what I'd like to see (murky and olive both sound a bit drab to me, evergreen might be on the right track). I've passed on this year's "charged green" as it's too light and yellow-ish for my taste.

A deep rich red like a bourgogne 3776 Century.

I would love to see a blue that fits between the aquamarine and the regular blue safari

Actually a graduated-colour in the Al-Star would look awesome. Sky-Turquoise-Navy, orange-red or even bluegreen-ocean. How about printed aluminum?

I'd like to see more matte Safari colours. Not enough of those around. A muted matte orange (deep Saffron) Safari, or a shiny light Ivory would be amazing.

I also second wanting the Z55, Z56, and Z57 14K Gold nibs as an option for the Safari and Al-Star, especially the Z57 with it's shiny black coating.

I'd buy a (or maybe 3 or 4) bright, in-your-face red Al Star in a heartbeat! Not so fond of earth tones, but bright (although NOT fluorescent--I don't like lime green, yellow, hot pink, etc., and avoid them like the plague) jewel tones really do it for me. I currently have orange, deep blue, and the blue-green colors. Bright red is next on my list, if it was available.

I am a little "green'd out". I wasn't a fan of Neon Green, and definitely not "Charged Green".

For the Al Star, I would like to see some titanium/niobium colors, with the variation in color - the purple-green-yellow-silver variation. For the Safari, I would love to see a "pearlescent" or "opalescent" color.

Stop bringing back old LE colors, use colors you haven't done before.

LIKE A DARK/FOREST GREEN AL STAR!

Ruby Red and Brown have already been done.

I still think they should offer a "build your own" option. Giving you the choice to mix and match cap, barrel, and clip color to create your dream pen.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
