Jfdiberian Pens On Ebay

This cunning nib-tinkerer has some nice pieces on eBay: he's taking old pens and making them into very special things. Dear God, he's got ringtops! I may have to bid. This one caught my eye: Waterson flat top fountain pen with over feed, WET NOODLE F-BBB

Ah nuts! I just shelled out $20 for a really rough Waterman 52 (hoping the nib may be okay). I guess at least I will finally find out whether the 52 is a decent size for my hand.

You say that, but I've also tried searching for various combinations of jfdiberian and pens and nothing comes up ....

I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!)

Hi,

Those who have difficulty searching for that sale site should check that your browser/search engine has not been modified by a responsible adult intervening to exclude hits having to do with pens, inks or paper. :)

Weird that the seller has huge Buy It Now prices ..... $1,000 for an ASA pen with no description????????

He or she is wasting BIG money on eBay fees.

Some listings have no description at all!

I like this one:

That being said, buyers are happy with the pens according to feedback.

Hello everybody. The reason I had so many listings with outrageous buy it now prices, was to create placeholder listings with such a high amount that nobody would buy it. A while back ebay sent out an email to me promising 40% off listing fees for all collectables listed before the end of the month. The end of the month was upon me and I was leaving on vacation the following day so I created a bunch of these placeholder listings just to "get my foot in the door" before the offer expired. My plan was to edit them later with the actual reasonable prices, pictures, etc. HOWEVER, ebay denied ever having sent out such a promotion and failed to honor their promise. This was a headache which even after speaking to their customer service reps, wasn't rectified.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
