Conklin Ice Blue Duragraph

"Hi Norman: Thanks for the beautiful Conklin Duragraph "Cracked Ice" fountain pen. It just arrived, certainly in time for Christmas! I knew the " F" would be closer to an "EF" and that's just what I wanted. I love the high pen clip. As always, so well set up, and after a little soap flush, a beautiful writer. Thanks again and have a great Christmas!"

T. J., Victoria, Canada

"Norm! My first order - the Conklin with 1.1mm italic and Supergreen ink - has arrived. Thanks for the note.

This pen is AWESOME! It wrote from the get go - that has never happened bar the very expensive Delta I have. I love the writing style I have miraculously acquired! Ha I can actually read what I have written. You are on a winner here Norm. Kudos to you from Down Under - where it is a balmy 100 degrees F. Kind regards,"

C. S., Australia

"Hi Norman, the pen arrived yesterday. This is my first Conklin and first stub nib - very smooth writing pen, love it. With its amber body and black nib, this Duragraph looks beautiful and feels great! Thanks for your guidance."

R. D., Tustin, CA

Feather pen calligraphy set

http://www.hisnibs.com/Feather%20pen%20box%20open_Fotor_small.jpg

A beautiful and classic feathered dip-pen calligraphy set. The pen, depending slightly on the nib employed, measures about 13" from tip to tip (nib to the end of the feather). Six interchangeable steel calligraphy points are included, which are friction-fit into the holder. I find the easiest way to remove one is with a piece of rubber -- or a rubber glove -- for a non-slip grip on the sides, using a slight and gentle rocking motion from side-to-side. One needn't push in the replacement very far for the holder to supply a firm hold.

The stunning gift box measures 13-1/2" itself and uses magnets to insure closure of the lid. You can spend countless hours just visually exploring the maps that cover all four sides of the exterior, as well as the inside of the lid.

The top of the box says 'The Writing Collection' in glossy purple (not well captured in the photo above), and the set makes for an outstanding gift for a pen collector -- or for you to pull out to sign that important document or letter -- where a conventional pen just won't do!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
