Giovanni:

I read that the final balance is due to you on the Pentrace LE FP by 3/31/16.....I recall the initial deposit was sent thru Paypal to Heritage and Style..

Somewhere..I believe on the Pentrace website.. I saw that payments thru paypal should be sent to tryphon@comcast.net

Using Paypal where do you want the final payment sent to? and do you still want it by 3/31?

Thanks,

Bill

Hi Bill - have sent you a PM, but tryphon@comcast.net is Heritage and Style's PayPal address. That's where I sent my money, and it was acknowledged as having been received by them.

And midnight Thursday does seem to be the deadline. Not sure of the time zone .... !

WAIT - WHAT?

The final installment is due in two days and this is how I find out, by stumbling on to this thread, and the information is not even originally by the originator of the thread but in someone else's question? Really?

I have reserved, paid the original payment, corresponded on FPN message system and on email - and I have not received any message on the final payment falling due.

No, this is not how such a buy is supposed to be run.

Maybe because it's a Pentrace special edition - there's been more information on their board.

How does that prevent one from communicating directly with the customers who have reserved and whose contact information is known?

Dear Tojusi, we posted the deadline on March 18 and several times after that date on several boards and on the Pentrace Facebook page.

http://members2.boardhost.com/pentrace/msg/1458340891.html

It is, after all, a Pentrace pen.

If you need more time, please email me and we will accommodate your requirements. No problem.

We did not plan a direct mailing: all the info was disseminated across the pen boards and in particular on the Pentrace board and Facebook pages. Unfortunately, last Friday I suffered a fall that kept me immobile for three days. I can barely walk even now and this has slowed me down. My sincere apologies to anyone who expected personal emails: this is not our modus operandi.

I'm sorry to hear about your fall and hope that you get better.

I will now head down to the Pentrace board you linked to, however, I do wish to point out that you did advertise and update in this thread as well and none of the original posts indicate that people who ordered should actively monitor some other site for information.

I'm not bringing this up to hammer on you but so that any other future group buys or similar - by whoever - should recognize that clarity of communication is key for the "customer" experience.

To end up on a positive note, thank you for your efforts in bringing this pen to fruition, I look forward to receiving it and playing around with the nib.

Wishing you the best of health,

Tojusi

For those of you " on the fence" , I really enjoy the Marlen Aleph which is almost identical to this pen.

It's a great size, design, feels wonderful in the hand and writes well , flexed or not.

Enjoy!

Dear friends, the deadline for payments of the 2016 Pentrace pen was yesterday. Those of you who paid the advance are now kindly asked to remit the balance. We will accept payments through this weekend. We will place the final order with Marlen on Monday April 4th. Thanks!

Hi Giovanni, hope you are now fully recovered from your fall.

Just wondering - how many pens were ordered and do you have any idea when they might be ready? Will you be sending them out all roughly at the same time, logistics permitting?

Thanks!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
