In order to avoid causing any issues for this forum I have deleted the contents of my post. Apparently Montblanc does not like for people to discuss their upcoming products before they have been officially announced. My similar threads in the Montblanc forum were removed by the moderators at the request of Montblanc.

Jazz Blue - October (?)
This is the ink for the Patron of the Arts pen. It appears to be a medium to light blue with a muted tone that's also referred to as a "vintage" look.

What do you mean light blue with a muted tone referred to as "vintage". Do you mean it's light and not intense or do you mean something else?

No, that's what I meant. It's a not very saturated color. I would almost call it a lighter version of Organics Studio's Blue Merle.

Lucky Orange - December

I'm not sure what the inspiration was for this name. It's a medium to dark orange that looks usable for normal writing, but otherwise nothing special. It is exciting to see Montblanc doing something other than a blue, green, or red though.

Ink of Joy Orange or Mahatma Gandhi Orange ?? :D

I've never seen either in person, but I'd say it's lighter and less red than Joy, and darker and less yellow than Gandhi. It looks like a "true" orange.

How does one get one's hands on this catalog? Is it available in the boutiques?

Should be, yes. Mine received it early last week.

Hmmm.... -- and I wouldn't call this bashing at all, but -- I'll be buying them all anyway. Just have to figure out when!

But, if you have them on the catalog, doesn't that imply they are officially out?

Or is this some kind of "insider's catalog" ??

No, it's their normal in-store catalog. I'm as puzzled as you are, but see this thread over in the Montblanc forum:

I saw that already... but is specific to Pens. Are the 2016 Pens on the Catalog too?

Yes they are, as well as some early 2017 pens. I know the other post only referred to pens, but I thought it safer to remove this post as well, at least for now.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
