big enough. You will find plenty to see and do. I am looking forward to it. I need my pen show fix after getting snowed out of the Philly show.

I missed my home show in Philly. Due to some lucky scheduling, that weekend has opened up for me so I'm excited to make the trek down to Baltimore. Went last year and enjoyed it.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

Sadly, that show is less than a week before I have to do the annual drive south (and hopefully make money before driving home...). I think Baltimore is 5-6 hours each way, and then to have to turn around and do a 20 hour jaunt in less than a week is too much. :(

Have fun, those who are going.

We are looking forward to a great week. The "Star Trek Ultimate Voyage" show is in Baltimore March 3, followed by the pen show March 4. Hoping to have a great time at both places. Nice to see an update to the show page that includes a list of vendors.

Regards,

Craig

I'm hoping to get to this; it will be my first show. Trying to see if #1 son is interested in attending (#2 declined).

I will be in the DC area that weekend and going to the Baltimore show on Saturday. Looking forward to going. This will be my second show. I went to the Ohio show last year and it was great. I hear Franklin Christoph will be there and I love their pens.

I didn't see FC on the vendor list, but I'm glad to hear they'll be there. I'm also very interested in their pens. Thanks.

pararis,

On the Franklin-Christoph site, go to Info>Pen Shows to see where they plan to attend various shows.

I'm glad that they will be there as well. I have 2 of their pens and will consider buying from them again.

Regards,

Craig

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
