beeth23,

Might I offer some information? Don't be in a quandary. I purchased the FPN LE Blue Pearl & I love it!

I got a 1.2mm stub in the regular position and a 0.6mm stub on the reverse side of the nib. It writes like a dream on both sides.

Nothing against the Conid Demonstrator it's just that the FPN LE is soooo awesome.

And I took your advice (and that of others on the forum)... ordered the Blue Pearl with a duo point grind. Now the wait......

How many of these pens are still available? I think 132 were planned and batches were going to be in the 10-15 range, so does that mean there's still ~100 left? Or have the batches been bigger?

You just have to be patient. Conid doesn't have a large staff and spend most of their time fulfilling orders. I think a typical wait time is a couple weeks (though sometimes much faster)

I meant how to reach Wim (and not Conid) - he is currently not online it seems.

Hello,

How does the group buy work? I notice there is a requirement of 10 units before the order is placed. If this is true, it would be nice to know the number of orders placed thus far in order to gauge how long it will take before the Conid build order is actually placed.

And/or does anyone have an idea of how long it takes for these "batches" to be fulfilled?

Thanks for any information!

It looks like Wim hasn't posted on FPN since June. I hope that doesn't mean something bad has happened to him (or that he got tired of all the complaints about classifieds and just quit).

Are there any other admins who can answer questions about the LE Blue Pearl?

I'm curious as to if anyone's heard any details, as the last post from Wim was in June stating the pens were going into production shortly.

I cannot confirm exactly how many pens have been produced so far (but I could ask Werner) but some certainly have as I have #3.

Werner tells me that he has made them all but they are not polished etc. I do not think they are all spoken for.

... claiming that it's one of 132 produced. I think I would consider the purchase only when the production is ceased. I need to know how limited the series will actually be :)

It may be worth to have a look at my classifieds :)

Only 132 will ever be produced, so far I believe it is only 30-40.

I'm the owner of that pen and there seems to be a bit confusion. The pen is number 7 of the first production run. 132 is the maximum number that will be produced, hence the reference 7/132.

The number is inscribed on the titanium clip as "FPN #007 / 132"

I've edited the ad to make it more clear (I hope ;) )

Any new updates on the status of the order?

Yes, the last batch of 12 was collected a week ago at CONID, and are in the process of being checked, nibs smoothed, modified, etc.

It fortunately happens to coincide with almost all of preparations done for the proessionals to start fixing the basement after the flooding (my office, nib work shop, and HQ of FPN).

Pens and nibs should all be ready more or less by the end of the month, or beginnign of December.

HTH, warm regards, Wim

It must feel great to finally get your home fixed and back to normal. Hopefully the contractors work fast and properly.

Thank you, Mulrich.

It is unfortunately not going as fast as I hoped it would - too many houses with damage, and only a limited number of contractors -, which is one of the reasons we started tackling a lot of stuff ourselves, apart from the fact that quite a bit of work needed to be done which was not covered by insurance. We hope all is done by the end of January, after which we can start redecorating and moving stuff into the basement once more.

Fortunately for now, as there is less to do by ourselves, there will be more time to spend (visibly) on FPN again :).

Warm regards, Wim
