Noodlers Grail Ink

I found some available!! Yippee.. it is the Noodler's Blue upon the Plains of Abraham..... I am so silly when I first heard the name I was like, "hummm where is that in the Bible?" lol

So I will tell you that getting this ink was a JOY and with a favorable exchange rate almost a good deal... shipping etc.... verses the typical Noodlers .. but really really thankful..

Euphoria is another word for having a desire fulfilled after a hard day/week/ year etc.

So so thankful for our friends in Toronto

Yes I will....

I would like to do a review but this ink has already been reviewed...

I wonder how it will flow.....

I love dark blue inks and this one looks like an ink I will want more of.... We will see, order placed tonight... from Toronto .. anyone want to guess ho long this takes to get here?

I am saying ships out Thursday.. US customs releases it Tuesday

Delivered by following Monday...

Honestly no idea on how they ship... BUT my frineds in China who use China post airlmail international get amazing results once the parcels hit the US.....

INCOMING! lol

Honestly as this ink is a limited one, I suggest ink lovers take advantage of the discounted CDN and no taxes... just saying

I might buy a bunch more after this first order!!!

FYI none of my friends here in the states at Goulet, Anderson's etc can order this for me....

So so happy

What is next... something from Europe no doubt? well there is always amazon

Plains of Abraham are near Quebec.

I can post pics tonight. I don't have nice paper at work. 20lb laser printer paper. TWSBI Eco ef.

I will say it took a bit for this ink to grow on me. It goes on a dark blue (I want to say "blue-black", but then "duuuh" comes to mind). When it dries, it greys. That took some getting used to. But now I like it.

The first run wasn't all that great....

They had a second run over the past year(?) which got some praise on other threads here.

I was too frightened off by my first bottle to shell out for the latest batch.

it would be a great idea if it worked.

When I was in Toronto last summer I made a special trip to Wonder Pens to pick up a bottle (and yes, that means dealing with Friday rush hour traffic from Hamilton onwards, on the Queensway.... And then circling the block a few times to figure out where the store actually is (and then find parking).

I like BUtPoA. It's a complex blue-grey color, but it's also a bit on the dry side compared to some inks (even some other Noodler's inks).

I like it as well. The Wonder Pens people make it easy to order. Just send them an email.

The move to the new location wasn't very convenient for me, the old one was on the drive home from work.

I find it funny you live so close and its inconvenient... well I am sure it is. But think of it this way, not as inconvenient as some one in Europe

well, I keep getting interesting notes from Post Canada in French telling me some has shipped me something.. and it looks like they did get it to the post. the item now also is showing up on USPS tracking.... Lets all hope for my sake Customs is busy and does not feel like holding my ink.

Last overseas item cost me less for the item than the post alone for this ink.. BUT I think the China
Post is subsidized, I mean how do you ship from Hong Kong for essentially free? ok I am wondering off topic... case in point 2 JH pens shipped and recieved in 12 days from HK, to Colorado 7.90 total for the pens and shipping ok.. I think its humorous that I get such great service from our internations friends in CN and CA but folks right next door in the states can take forever just to get an item off. Case in point amazon through sell, not from amazon just listed there, took a 4 days to mail me a pen book... although it was signed by the famous author andthey took the time to put it in a slip of brown paper! OMG I guess you cannot fix incompetence... and this is NOT the issue here.. I had the BEST SERVICE from our friends in Torronto ... The Lambeau book listed as good, wast new open pristine and signed,

Well I will post again after the Ink stains my hands..

Salut

The last two Jin Hao came today.. now I await my grail ink to test the best ink cheapest pen theory.. ok it is not really a theory, and I do own some very nice pens that are solid gold nibs from our Italian brothers and sisters.. but ...

The order comes with my first order of nicer stationary... so it will be a fun fest when this arrives....

The London Pen Club compared the new and old formulas of Blue Upon the Plains of Abraham in a blog posting in September. I've been using the new Wonder Pens BUPA formula in my daily carry Kaweco AL Sport since August and enjoy it very much.

Cheers,

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
