New Speerbob Website

Happy Monday,

I finally built a new Speerbob website. I do not sell pens on it but do have a link to my pens for sale on eBay. I have over 1,000 pen listing on eBay right now!

The website is really just informational. Info about me, my business, some pen links, a pen show calendar, etc. I will build it up more over time. Please check it out at www.speerbob.com. I welcome suggestions and ideas. Also if you see something I'm selling on eBay that interests you, you can also contact me directly and likely get a better price.

Cheers, BOB

Congrats! :)

I'm on mobile right now so I'm unsure of how things look on the desktop. But I just wanted to mention that a few of the links on your homepage (interesting information, videos links, shipping guide, etc.) could use a corresponding category link in your menu. I was finding myself reading up on certain pages, and then having to go back to the homepage to find the rest of the links.

Just a thought! :) Best wishes! Always a pleasure doing business with you.

Overall I think this looks pretty damn good!

One suggestion: in the banner at the top of the page, the light tan lettering doesn't look good against the background of pens -- it blends in too much. If you put a black border, or even some other color border, around the letters it would probably make them "pop" a bit better for greater legibility.

Congrats , though it connects you to your ebay store , i would rather go for a full functional online store and link your customers from ebay to your store, this will ensure you to have a solid business portal in the future rather than relying on other's play ground to do business.

Very nice indeed! Best of luck.

One question: Have you any plans to offer shipping where the import charges are handled by the carrier? The reason I am asking is the crazy Danish customs system. If a parcel from the US is delivered by the Danish postal service, we have to pay import tax and Danish sales tax - both these of the item's price as well as of the postage, plus the postal service will charge you $24 for doing the paper work. I see quite a few Ebayers offering this service - just a thought :)

Nice job.

I liked your article on buying from eBay.

Never argue with drunks or crazy people.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
