Joker Joins The Full House

Recommended Posts

I noticed that in the previous post the photo only showed 4 pens until you clicked to enlarge it. Hopefully this will show them all.The final addition, also from GWeimer, the black one with a 9668 nib writes as well as do all the others. The Joker is wild???

Edit...

Finally got the photo properly cropped.

They all measure 0.46" barrel diameter and length 5.03" +/- 0.02". I'm assuming that variation is within tolerance, so I believe they are all Js. I suppose end jewel size could be the cause of the variation, or maybe threading on the cap and/or barrel.

Call it what you will, it's not a "color set" without the black one. Very nice group. What's next, icicles, pastels .... ?

Best Regards
Paul

My intention is to stop here, Paul. I like the size of the Js, and want to feel comfortable using all my pens, so the icicles are off my radar even though the *pin stripes* are neat. Pastels just don't attract me.

I missed a transitional early on because I thought it was missing the jewel on the barrel. Hah!

Must be a white imprint? My old neighbor retired from Bell, and even he doesn't have one!

Yep, me too. Thought it was a "marriage" of a Dollar pen with J-pen cap ... till I saw the second one.

Stopping here, eh? No disrespect, but I've heard that/said that before. Let us know when you've added the next one that you "just couldn't resist".

Best Regards
Paul

It is possible. I have not purchased an Easterbrook in several years.

Never know.

#1 Aug 2013 - green J - 9550

#2 November 2014 - black LJ skunk 2464

#3 January 2016 - red SJ 9450

and between #1 and #2 there were two nibs - a 1555 Gregg and Venus Fine.

The 2464 is a broad, my 9xxx nibs are both EF, and basically two fines. Guess I am missing something in medium....do I go copper, blue or gray next?

Now you need one of each size, in each color!

John The Enabler :-)

I prefer the larger pen size. So it's easy to bypass the smaller Esties.

2 more models, similar size as the J:

- Dollar pen

- Transitional-standard length

That would be 12 to 14 more pens.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
