Not a pen but I have just had a moment of madness and ordered two bottles of Pilot Iroshizuku ink - one of Tsuki yo, and one of Shin kai. $31 including international shipping seemed fairly reasonable to me. These will be my first Iro inks (outside of a couple of small samples).

Aha,...the thread refreshed for 2016.

Thanks RMN!

Last December I waited for a Kaeco Dia II pen to come from Toronto. At the same time, a Kaweco 14K BB nib-set (the nib pictured in my avatar) was being shipped from the UK.

This pen, with the new 14K BB installed, has been sent to Pendleton. I'm waiting for Mr. Brown to stub the double broad nib & to return my pen.

Well it's not actually in the mail, but waiting...

A Sailor Pro Gear Slim Four Seasons Yukitsubaki Winter MF nib, backordered at Goldspot since Jan. 5.

It will be the most I spent on a pen so far and I'm wavering wildly with canceling and putting the money towards a different one at someplace where I can see what's in stock.

There's already a thread started for this. Maybe merge the two? Here's the other one: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/302112-what-pen-are-you-waiting-for-in-the-mail-2016-edition/

That said, still waiting on the vintage Eversharp Skyline I purchased from eBay. I can't wait to get it in hand and fix 'er up!

So it was you who got that Skyline Eversharp! I was not home when I should have been. Congratulations!!!

I'm waiting for a Levenger Kyoto, which I purchased for my birthday present (well at least that was my excuse), a bottle of Iroshizuku Kon-Peki for the new pen & the necessary Rhodia #16 Dotpad to begin journaling!!!!

Thank you! The cap required quite a deal of fixing (cap sleeve was loose and needed to be shellacked into place, and the derby/top was very loose as well when I took it apart--had to use a rosin-based sealant to close it up). But I got it all fixed up and it makes for a great workhorse. I will treasure it for a long, long, long long time. ^_^

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
