This is a fantastic pen. It looks like it belongs in the shirt pocket of Captain Nemo aboard the Nautilus. And fantastic handwriting, not to mention, a great ink pairing. I always look forward to your posts, they are well worth the wait!

Thank you! One shouldn't be a wizard to pair the Liliput with an ink - it loves greens, blues, and browns, any colour you like.

beautiful picture... love the patina on pen...

Thanks! I love it too - adds to the charm. And this little pen has a lot of charm, believe me.

Sorry for not actively posting much atm. I'm on a commission and every free minute that can be gained means progressing ;).

I'll post the finished result when I'm done, but in the meantime I'm posting this Parker Arrow (TE) and it's history.

Initially, I was bidding on a Parker Classic in laque thuya finish on ebay, but didn't win.

The seller also had this Arrow and I thought, meh, just let me bid on this one. Not really very keen on the pen, I placed my bid - only one unit above the current bidder.

And I was stuck with the pen.

It arrived, I cleaned it, bent the arrow back in place, tuned the slightly misaligned nib and wrote a test sample.

It was like, yeah it writes, ok.

I put it back in it's box.

I didn't like the converter, it's used look, the finish, the ridiculous clip, actually I hated it. In reality I wasn't over with my loss of the classic, I really wanted it.

After that had cooled of a bit, I decided to use it within my current rotation. I realigned the tines a bit better, smoothed it and actually I loved it. I like the used look when the low hanging sun reflects in the gold coating, I even like the clip.

It writes really nicely now and I further smoothed the backside oft the nib for reverse writing, because for fine annotations the nib is too broad.

Wow! The custom stub really shows line variation very well. It adds a lot of character to your handwriting. I am also a huge fan of the Sailor ink.

Yesterday, I was writing with a wartime Sheaffer Valiant. The quote comes from Sheaffer's archives. Amazing that they had one-day service.

New diary for 2017! Going to try and combine my bullet journal with my conventional diary, so bought a HUGE diary. Paperblanks Ultra matched with Sheaffer Triumph, Diamine Asa Blue, and a large gin and tonic.

Gorgeous Eli

I'll need to get me some Royal blue.

I always thought that Royal blue would be a bit paler, but it's really "standout".

The Unica is gorgeous too.

I love Deltas.

Happy Birthday, Noihvo!

If anyone hasn't tried nibs from this supplier... well, I am a satisfied customer - although their fude nib wasn't quite what I expected, their italic exceeded expectations.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
