Jonathan Swift Seaweed Green - Montblanc

I believe that people who work in Montblanc headquarters are evil-minded. If ther were good, we could buy Jonathan Swift in every MB boutique. Unhappily we can't. We can win an auction and pay crazy amount of money for this ink but it's not good deal :)

Here it is. Intriguing, handsome, unobtainable.

I appreciate this review & would be glad to find a bottle if it were a "reasonable" price but I can muddle along without paying 5 times the initial price. I remember wanting this ink a few years ago but gave up when it as well as many others were all found to be "discontinued."

This is one of only three greens that I like and, fortunately, I have two bottles. That last fill is gonna hurt but I'm not intending to be buried with it so I use it with abandon. ;) A tip of the hat to Cyber6 for showing me the beauty of murky greens.

Ok, I'll bite... what are the other two?

Mariusz 888, visvamitra - Ladies and Gentlemen, będę mówił po polsku ;)

I would like to buy a bottle of MB Daniel Defoe Palm Green. Is it the same situation? I had a little bit of hope that I will finally get to the MB boutique in Galeria Kazimierz (Kraków) and find a lonely bottle waiting for a loving user (that's me).

On the other hand, what price should I expect? I have read one review written by a happy owner of that ink, stating that he bought it for 19$. However, Amazon Canada sells it for over ninety Canadian Dollars, what makes it very pricey (255 PLN for 35 ml, I would prefer to buy a few Iroshizuku colours instead of paying such an insane price).

(talking about Poland - are the Rohrer & Klinger's "atramenty artystyczne" suitable for normal fountain pens?)

Dziękuję za pomoc!

I don't speak polish (yet), but I do know German and Englisch (2 Languages that happen to be printed on the bottles). Those bottles of Rohrer und Klinger are perfektly acceptable for Fountain pens. Solange it says: Schreibtinte it is acceptable. The Dokumentus Inks seem pretty nice too (have yet the Geld to afford them, but one day!) I personally use the Schreibtinte (Morinda, Alt-Gold-Grün, Leipziger Schwarz und Königsblau are my favourites.) They are, for me, cheaper and very nice (for my tastes).

I know French and English only, thanks for help! There is a short piece of information in Polish which says that it is suitable for whole range of tools used for writing, but it is not a regular ink store and I wanted to know if I was not mistaken. I have seen one pen damaged by an inappropriate ink and I am very very careful when it comes to some brands which I don't know yet (and there are at least three typed of Rohrer&Klinger's, based on what I know and what is sold in that store). Thank you so much.

EDIT: Dziękuję @visvamitra, kupię pewnie Alt Goldgrun w takim razie ;) Lavender Purple raczej jest w butikach, prawda?

I bought this ink when it first came out, used it once, didn't like it and put it away. Rediscovered it a few months ago and put it in a wetter pen. Problem solved, now I love it.

This one came out just before I started picking up a bottle of each MB limited edition which is a pity because I really like this ink but I'm not paying $50+ for it either.

Really not too wild about the color. Just doesn't "do it" for me. But as always, Vis, your review was great!

LOL, I'm not a fan of murky greens, but I'm a fan of Vis' reviews and Cyber6's flowers.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
