In a world where there are no eyes the sun would not be light, and in a world where there were no soft skins rocks would not be hard, nor in a world where there were no muscles would they be heavy. Existence is relationship and you're smack in the middle of it.

Just to let others know--I had a very good experience ordering my Pelikan Amethyst from Fritz Schimpf. The communication was always very good.

Thank you for this information.

Just a question about the payment method. Does choosing Vorauskasse mean that a buyer would be making payment immediately, or is it simply authorisation to charge the customer once you have received the item and can send it off?

And if the latter, which exchange rate is used? The rate on the day of ordering, or that on the day of purchase?

Applying an exchange rate valid on the day of ordering - whether through immediate payment or for delayed payment - would give certainty about the price. The fluctuations in the value of the Euro over the past year mean that using an exchange rate in February could change the price of the pen for a buyer from outside the Euro zone (by quite a lot, up or down).

What is the difference in an 805 and an 800?

The trim: if the last number is 0 the pen has gold trim, if the last number is 5 the pen has silver trim (palladium plated).

  • 4 weeks later...

We just received the information from Pelikan that the Vibrant Blue writing instruments will be available in April 2016, not February 2016 as announced before. Please excuse this delay. Our pre-order offer for these pens is still valid.

Best regards

I'm interesting in pre-ordering one of these M805 Special Editions but I'm confused by the website. Is the value added tax subtracted after the order is placed and my address is entered?

Thanks,

Mark

  • 2 months later...

The Vibrant Blue have arrived!

They are amazing. Each pen is different from the other, due to the material and the production method (cut from a solid acrylic block) used. We recommend to have a look at these pens in real life, as the pictures are not able to reproduce the real impression.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
