Sounds like you people have a great show lined up.

Best of luck and I hope that the weather there is

better than what we had here in Philly! I hope to

see lots of pictures.

We will be posting lots of pictures here, on Facebook and on Instagram. There is an Arkansas Pen Show Facebook group and you can search for us on Instagram at #arpenshow2016.

There should be some live videos via periscope from various people as well. We'll come back with a list of the folks we know will be on periscope in the next few days.

This year is going to be a lot of fun! Pizzas are ordered, drinks will be provided in the hospitality room and it is gonna be a party. We are in a much bigger room this year. We have beautiful posters made by Kerry Kemp of Art Outfitters for this year's show. The club has really been putting in overtime getting the word out and I for one am very excited about this year's show.

Hope to see y'all February 26th and 27th at the North Little Rock Wyndham.

Happy Pen Hunting,

Fern

I've got my cash stash ready! Picking out some pens to let go and making plans for what I need to come home with! Don't forget to come by "The Write Pen" table for great deals, great pen talk and great pen repairs. Remember to put your FPN name on your name tag and tell me who you are. I just love meeting up with fellow FPNers at pen shows!

That's cool, but please post photos here also. Not all of us are on Facebook or use Instagram. I had to delete my Facebook account, and use Flickr for photos.

I'm also from Missouri and I'll be there. I visit the Ozark National Forest several times a year, but I've never been to Little Rock. I'm also new to the world of fountain pens, and I've never been to a pen show either. I posted about having a vintage Sheaffer restored and was referred to Danny Fudge. So, hopefully I can get my pen restored, add a pen or two to my collection and learn lots of new things there. I'm looking forward to it.

Well the show was unbelievable! We grew from two rooms to three this year, there were so many beautiful pens and wonderful pen people! I don't know how I could have had a better time! I sold 8 pens and bought 11. The Arkansas Pen Club pulled off another great show. The hospitality room was wonderful, Thursday night meeting in the Blue Dog room was great, Friday night pizza superb, the open house at Vanness Pen shop with chocolate covered bacon was super! I came home with some incredible pens! '39 Parker Vacumatic Maxima in golden pearl with double striped jewels, '37 Parker Royal Challenger in gray with a sword clip in perfect condition, Pelikan M800 Grand Place, Sheaffer Imperial touchdown set in sterling silver stickered, to name a few choice finds!

If you skipped this show you missed a great time! Friendliest pen show anywhere! Some incredible pens showed up, got to put my hands on a number of pens I've never seen before, even took some home with me! Pencil in this show for next year, you won't regret it!

It was my first pen show and I had a great time, too. I got my Sheaffer Balance fixed by Danny and went home with my first "51", a gold Waterman and a Sheaffer pencil for the wife. I hope to see you there again next year!

my first pen show as well, driving distance from home. everyone was warm and informative, the vendors were helpful and patient, and the venue was comfortable for the event as well as for my overnight stay so that i could attend both days. sheaffers, parkers, inks, oh my! i especially enjoyed the outside-the-room events: the lectures/demonstrations and the side-trip to vanness. i arrived with the goals of getting some pens repaired (thank you very much, frank), and finding an interesting ink ("wound up coming home with three inks," he said, blushing). best of all, i met a cousin who i had not seen in at least 25 years, who coincidentally has also gained an interest in fountain pens, and relocated to little rock. hope to return next year!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
