I'm trying to find a value on a cross gold pen with Mickey Mouse on the clip. I appreciate any assistance.

Hi and welcome to FPN.

FPN is not an appraisal site, but we can ofcourse give some guidelines.

The question as you pose it is unanswerable.

Value is determined by many factors: Model, material (Gold? what type? Carat?,) age, and condition.

And with additions like emblems, such as a Mickey head it very much depends on the collectability, and where you offer it.

A Mickey pen would perhaps fetch more when offered at a Comics convention then at a general sale.

And good clear pictures help, two ways in fact: People can better judge the condition of the pen, and details needed for proper identification, AND our members just like to see nice pens. :)

I'd love to see it too. I have a sterling silver Disney pen that I reserve for trips to Florida.

Oh noooo - you cannot say something like that without posting pictures. Now I can't sleep until I have seen one of those. (The advantage is of cause that my daughter won't see it and beg until she gets one.)

I remember this pen. I almost purchased one twice, the first time was at a Disney Store at Downtown Disney the second time at an outlet mall. Both occurances were about fifteen years ago. The pen was made by Colibri.

In regard to value, well I suggest trying to sell it to a Disney Collector.

Sheaffer made a Disney related Fountain Pen which is much more appealing to Fountain Pen collectors and to the best of my knowledge very few, if any people collect Colibri Fountain Pens.

I bought this one to keep. I teach at a business school and do a lot of Disney cases; this pen will become part of the lecture.

I've come across other Disney fountain pens but didn't like them much.

Sounds like a great idea! Who would be able to sell a fountain pen anyway... My heart would bleed.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
