Hi everyone, I found this site while trying to find information on the net on a Cross ballpoint I recently purchased. Appreciate the forum is for fountain pens but reading through some threads it appears you guys have been able to help others identify ballpoints.

 

I've used Cross pens since my Mum brought me one as a gift some years ago and I've brought a few pens since. I recently spotted this on ebay and loved the look of it. I haven't been able to find out anything about it, I only paid a few quid so I'm not worried about what it turns out to be - now I've got it in my hand I love it. But something is odd.

 

Everything looks OK, the quality is there. The only thing is that I would expect the two halves of the barrel to meet - it's almost as if the top comes from a different pen.

 

I'd love to know more about the pen I have, but either way it feels great in my hand, writes wonderfully (takes a cross fill) and looks great - beauty is as they say in the eye of the beholder. Pics below, any info gratefully received. Cheers Phil

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
