They're currently having some glitch that causes the free shipping not to calculate. I was able to reach someone very quickly and they refunded the shipping costs. Great deal!

Well, I'm not sure, but it appears that they may now be out of these. The item is now showing as ON HOLD, and you can't select any quantity.

Maybe we cleaned them out. :rolleyes:

Don't give up!

I read this thread & immediately whipped over & managed to place four in my basket & sadly gave up after getting the "on hold" message. BUT 20 or so minutes later I tried again & was only able to select TWO as quantity this time. I looked to the top of the page & found the icon for "basket," which indicated quantity of SIX;

promptly hit "check out," & was able to pay. I have since received an email verifying the purchase with a receipt for payment. Because the original price for six notebooks exceeded $100.00 it indeed included free shipping.

Unless something happens after the above events I believe I will receive the notebooks in spite of the initial "hold" process. But if it doesn't I will be no worse off than if I hadn't tried to take advantage of this sale. I appreciate your "head's up" regarding this; I surely have enjoyed the Rhodia notebooks I purchased previously in their sale. I KNEW I had enough pens & ink for the rest of my life but probably will NOW have enough paper as well.

Thanks again. I almost made it through the Black Friday without a purchase..........I have surely deleted enough messages today with the various offers BUT this one seems like a sale that deserves attention!

Last year, we all jumped on their Black Friday sale. It looks like they're getting out of selling paper goods. The good news is that the 8.25x5.5 webnotebooks are now discounted to $6.80 each.

I must be doing something wrong. I go to use PayPal checkout and the confirmation still says $17.

Do I just need to use a credit card to check out to get the extra 60%?

The discount should be applied at checkout, but if the item is now on hold, I don't know what that does to applying the extra 60%.

You didn't miss it! Try again. I managed to get one last night and then checked again this morning and it is allowing me to buy another - but just one (I'd like 4). They're apparently trying to limit purchases.

That happened to me also, then for some random reason - it was suddenly there! I have no idea how that is working,

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
