Pelikan Souverän Desk Lamp

Hi everyone!

Does anyone know about these things?
I remember seeing 1 maybe 2 photos earlier about such things, but I can't seem to find them now.
Pelikan International had a giveaway for Fountain Pen Day on their Facebook page where they offered one of these.

I was lucky enough to win it, actually! I'm really excited about it!
Of course I'll post an update when it's here!

Congrats on winning! I'd be interested in seeing some real life pics once you get it. Hard to tell how big it is from the photos.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

More than 70cm high!
When I saw the box what it came in, I was like "no way it's that big".
But it sure makes up a whole flock! More like a Pelikan M5000 :D
They also sent me a really nicel hand written card. It was a really nice touch! ^_^

If I brought some thing like that in the house, I'd have to sleep on the couch because the Mrs. would most definitely not approve. I like it though. Congrats again. Looks good on the desk. Enjoy it.

I do not think my wife would love the idea either.... The term big or full sized pen takes new meaning with this one.

Haha! Right!
I looks quite unreal on the desk though. I even started laughing when I saw it. :D
It really is more of a shop window decoration than anything else, but it is so cool!

I know it was a gift, but I could just trade it for a M10xx :P

I think it is really amazing, never expected to be huge😃 I really liked it, congratulations and according to my opinion a rare thing like this about a special occasion is more valuable than three m1000s let alone one. There are thousands of m1000s around and adding more each day but this is very unique, you are very lucky indeed, congratulations again😃

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
