I would like to share with you this Pelikan 101N Tortoise from 1936 in stunning timeless condition.

They are from my Grand dad and uncle store with original stickers and have not been out of the original box for more than 70 years. Although the have not been tested, the piston is in good condition and has pressure. The pen have no cracks, dents or any imperfections feel once with inc and with original sale tag as been found in the store shelf in 1936.

Excellent!

The pen looks great indeed with the original white infill on the cap dome imprints.

Beautiful box also with the earlier "4 chicken" logo.

These pens are rarely seen in this condition. A valuable item!

Is the nib cracked above the breather hole?

Do not sell....it's like being handed the holy grail....sigh cubed.

Do hang around and see why grown people play with fountain pens and pretty inks.

With such a start you could well be satisfied for life with only two more pens.

I did not realize I was so evil  ....but it's a good evil.

No, even though you start at the top of the heap, there will be more than two more pens.....for 97% of us....forever two more pens or until the river rises. :P

Nice pen. What caught my interest was the tag in Cyrillic (not sure what language this is in; guessing the word in red is "Pelikan"). There was a similar pen on ebay a couple of weeks ago with the same tag.

The pen was from 1936-38 period and was displayed at my grand parents shop in Sofia Bulgaria. On the tag is printed that the pen been feel with original Gunter Wagner inc and show that the company has their own company base in Sofia to sell the products.

I think it says:

"Pelikan

Pen

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
