What Is Your Favourite Of The Montblanc Limiteds?

Hey,

I wondered, what is your favourite of the Montblanc limited editions? I really love all the Blues like JFK Navy Blue and the Tolstoy Sky Blue AND also the Blue Hour Twilight Blue

Unfortunately I couldn't try nice Reds... it's not so easy to get a Sakura or even a Hitchcock.

Kind regards,

Martin

Jonathan Swift and Season's Greetings. Tolstoy is nice as blues go. ;)

White Forest, o'course! The exact colour, or the scent itself? Any ol' order here, because this has never yet been topped off anywhere else!!

Racing Green, Jonathan Swift and Red Chalk. I wish I could find some of the first two. I hardly use my one Red Chalk as I'm terrified of running out!

I thought the Racing Green was a regular-lineup color that got discontinued. It's in the same bottle shape as those of that ilk.

Sakura would be so nice but it's really unobtanium now isn't it?

+1 on Winter Glow for its rich deep colour.

I also like Ink of Love which is warmer and brighter than Winter Glow.

Carlo Collodi is another one I like, but it's not really red but more like orange-brown. I like that ink in specific 1 or 2 pens I have.

I like the round LE bottles, but I just adore those square jewel like bottles!

Winter Glow is my favorite.

Of the more recent blues, I think I'd have to say Honore De Balzac followed by Leo Tolstoy Sky Blue followed by JFK followed by Blue Hour. But, I really like all of them. JFK is an excellent choice you don't like the grayish tones of most blue-blacks but still want a very dark blue. It also shades surprisingly well even in my EF Lamy 2000 nib.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
