Hello Friends,

I have been scarce on the forum because I spent the months of September and October getting some medical procedures. So, how about we meet on Sunday, Nov the 22nd? We would also like to give our friend Sam a good, friendly send-off as he has to move from Michigan for family reasons.

We will meet at 2pm, at the same place, ie, the Sweetwaters Cafe on Plymouth Road, in Ann Arbor.

The address is as follows: Sweetwaters Coffee at the Plymouth Road Crossings

3393 Plymouth Road

Ann Arbor, Mi-48105

There is ample free parking outside the Cafe. Feel free to email me at : sidss1AT gmailDOTcom, if you have any questions.

Hope to see everyone there!!!!!!:):)

Even though I love to drive in the snow... the 4"+ on the tree limbs outside my window are telling me I won't be in A2 tomorrow...

Sam O you're sure you want to leave the mitten now? ; ) (it was such a beautiful autumn > two days ago ; )

Sorry are paths won't cross. I planned to bring a Snoopy pen for your little one. If that's not beyond your packing-to-leave limits, and have a PO box, I can slip it in the mail before you're on your way?

I tried to send you a PM but it failed... Any way I can send you a message?

Hello to the Ann Arbor Pen Posse! It was great to meet all of you at the November meeting.

Are any other meetings planned? Or, have I (the horror! the horror!) missed one,

Bear regards,

Kenspens

Sid and I talked about picking a date for the next one but we seem to have fallen down on the job! Got a preference?

We'll be out of town on the 28th, and I probably have to work on the 6th of March (don't have the schedule yet, but the first Sunday of the month is my usual day). Of course, if either of those days is best for everyone else, go for it. :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
