Anderson Pens

I have bought from them online and had a pleasant experience. At the Michigan Pen Show, there are only two tables I mostly look forward to visiting - 1) Anderson Pens 2) Edison Pens

And I end up buying something from Brian A. at the show!

Of all the US retailers, they probably have one of the widest selection at great prices. Hence they will be a retailer that I will always consider when I have to buy pens and related paraphernalia.

I also discovered yesterday that Anderson's ink samples are 3ml, compared to Goulet that offers 2ml for the same price. Anderson's website isn't as pretty or friendly as Goulet but I'm willing to put up with that for 50% for ink in a sample vial.

I hope to get up to their store in Appleton one of these days, I live in the Chicago area so it's not too far of a drive at least.

Don't forget about their free shipping on Fountain Pen Day tomorrow!

I was actually about to order a bunch of things last night and then noticed the shipping deal, so I'm waiting until tomorrow.

I like ink samples that allow you to really use the ink to figure out if you want it. (The 2 ml samples from Goulet's ink drop subscription are perfect because I don't choose the colors, so they aren't always colors I want.) Vanness has 4 ml samples, so KWZ Ink standard ink samples are $1.50/4 ml. I also like Ink by the Ml. You can get brands that are sometimes not available everywhere (Organics Studio, Callifolio, Sailor) and they are 5ml samples. if you just want samples, Ink by the Ml is a good place to try.

I am going to Anderson Pens today, for the first time!!! I live in nearby Green Bay, WI, so it's not much of a drive. I wish I had a larger wad of cash to spend, but I'm sure I will still come away with a few little goodies! One of them will be 'Green Bay Green" ink!

I can speak to how great they are at the shop. They are very patient with me learning about pens, and even patient with my two young'ins (ages 7 & 8) picking out their pens!

If you are there and ask for a sample and they happen to not have any filled, they offer to fill you one on the spot. That works absolutely great when I walk in with not a specific ink, but a range to look for. Like one of my latest stops, "I'm looking for a vibrant purple, but not too bright" a little back and fourth, we grabbed some off the shelf and they filled a couple. Bam, I'm walking out with no less than a half dozen different inks that fit the bill. Awesome folks to purchase from.

Oddly enough, I've only ever purchased from Goulets prior to me being a member on these boards. And I've lived in Appleton and now only 30 minutes away from them! I had no idea there was a pen store anywhere near me until coming here.

u r one lucky person! Anderson is a great example of the very best! I value them with my business....

I remember one business I was directed to from an online 3rd party, honestly was in the little corner strip mall at least 100 times in the few years in that neighborhood and I did not even know the store, a Shipper and packer was there... LITERALLY next to the ice cream shop! sometimes I wonder about myself.... Say hello to the A's from MAtthew in Colorado next time you visit for me please...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
