Awwww. My problem is that I'd collect them for their cuteness and then not use them past half-way because they look so cute with ink still in them. I really enjoy writing with Iros. They have a complexity that shows up particularly well in flexible pens and has increased my enjoyment as I write.

Noodler's Konrad Acrylics (normal+Da Luz custom flex) ~ Lamy AL-Stars/Vista F/M/1.1 ~ Handmade Barry Roberts Dayacom M ~ Waterman 32 1/2, F semi-flex nib ~ Conklin crescent, EF super-flex ~ Aikin Lambert dip pen EEF super-flex ~ Aikin Lambert dip pen semi-flex M ~ Jinhao X450s ~ Pilot Custom Heritage 912 Posting Nib ~ Sailor 1911 Profit 21k Rhodium F. Favourite inks: Iroshizuku blends, Noodler's CMYK blends.

I couldn't cope with a mini bottle of Iroshizuku ink. I just want one of these --

Excellent idea.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I love Iroshizuku. The minis are a perfect solution for someone like me who doesn't write all that much. But they weren't yet available when I acted on my infatuation and bought enough of the "big guys" to last quite a while!

Just as a quick thought. How fade resistant are Pilot Isoshizuku Inks?

I would like to use it in a travel journal which might come in handy in a few year time. No high UV exposure, just a loong time

Can anyone suggest a good US vendor to order the minis from? Preferably that offers individual bottles in addition to or instead of the 3-bottle sets? Thanks!

Amazon has it for around $12 per 15 ml bottle. Little too pricy, I think.

Off topic, but... I wished my Edelstein bottles could be stacked like that.

Nice pics! I like them!

VANNESS PEN has the 3 bottle set, which they will let YOU choose which colors you wish for the set, @ $31.00 with individual bottles for $12.00 each. They offer free shipping on orders over $35.00. I purchased mine from them in FEBRUARY when they announced here in the Classifieds they were available.

I have found it amusing that a US retailer offered them for sale in February & others are announcing the arrival this Fall as though they hadn't already been available since then.

Usual disclaimer: I am NOT a Vanness, nor related, married to, nor employed by same. Just grateful to have had the opportunity to purchase nice pens & inks (BungBox, Kwizi & Akkerman) @ reasonable prices, shipped promptly, often FREE with OUTSTANDING customer service.

Lol! Thanks, but I have to admit, the ONLY time I ever dared stack the bottles in a pyramid was for the picture, and that wasn't for long. They certainly aren't stable that way. What you can't see in the picture is that they were leaning ever so slightly backward so the upper ones were supported by the back of the cabinet in which they reside.

I ever tried stacking my Edelsteins... and nope. It didn't even hold up at all. Sadly, no Edelstein pyramid. :(

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
