I present to test the ink Sheaffer Skrip Purple an interesting and almost pure shade of purple. Many people are looking for good inks among the exotic brands, and here under the very noses we have a very good ink in an equally good price. Technically also anything you can not accuse him. Tested and you wont be dissapointed...

Thank you, I think it is very pretty and much better value than the Iroshizuku. I am a fan of Noodler's purple which is another inexpensive and great behaving ink. Again, thank you for the review.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Sheaffer inks are very good and often under appreciated.

 

I have Sheaffer Skrip Purple and both its predecessors Sheaffer Skrip Lavender and Sheaffer Skrip Burgundy. Lavender is similar but lighter and Burgundy is redder and looks more like grape juice.

 

All three are a treat to use.

I don't like grape-like colors one bit, so I always pass over any ink with the "P" word in its name. But this one looks very blue to me, and I'm a huge fan of blues so I will buy a bottle based upon your excellent review.

 

I frequently use Sheaffer blue and really like its properties, but Sheaffer purple was always skipped over when shopping for new colors. Thanks very much for opening my eyes.

Thanks for the review.

This is the first ink that really behaved well in a vintage Snorkel with an EF nib. Normally I would be a bit skeptical about restricting pens to inks from the same company, but in this case it really did make the difference.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy.       I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
