Nib Holder

Does LAMY make a nib holder for the Safari/Al-Star nibs?

I'd like to eventually have 1 of each size of nib, but then thought, maybe they sell a full set in a nice case? or sell a case/holder on it's own, but, not seeing one.

Does such a thing exist? if not, LAMY should make one... otherwise, I guess I can get a 7 day pill holder... I think they make 8 nib sizes, so, 7 day pill holder, 1 for each nib + the nib in use. Rather have a nice branded holder though. :D

I am not an expert on Lamy accessories. I put my spare nibs (Lamy and Goulet nibs) in the little 6 ml sample vials that Goulet Pens sells. I put a small piece of paper inside with the nib information written on it. I keep these in a drawer. I think a pill container would be fine too.

Actually, I have a few nibs from a dip pen that I did the exact same thing with.

I figured with LAMY, they'd have some sort of 'set' you could purchase. Odd having a nib system that's easy to swap without removing the ink cartridge or feed, and not expect people to want to buy the nibs as a full set.

Maybe I'll email them... maybe they just never thought of it. :D

Lamy has more than 8 different nib sizes for the safari / al-star: A, EF, F, M, B,OB, OM, MK, (LH) ,1.1, 1.5,1.9. This sums up to 11 nibs, excluding the LH nib because I assume you're right handed. However, I've seen those Z50 OB and OM nibs, but does anyone of you own one?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
