Pif: M&m Turquoise Ink

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I just returned from a trip to Heidelberg, DE, and I would like to share some ink that I picked up.

The ink is M&M (Metzger und Mendle) Turquoise. Check out Venemo's review on FPN.

I can offer three samples to members in the U.S..

Just leave a comment here if y'all our interested and I draw a winner on Sunday night.

Cheers,

Daniel

I am interested. I've never heard of M&M before, except for the oh so edible ones which I can't have anymore.

Count me in! I too have never heard of this ink company, so I'm anxious to give it a shot...

Hello,

I have never heard of this brand of ink, and I like turquoises, so why not?
Thank you for being so generous as to share your ink with us!

It's a real shame you had to restrict this to the US. I'm currently testing every turquoise ink I can find, in order to find the one that is the closest match to the discontinued Caran d'Ache Caribbean Sea. This would have been a welcome ink to add to the test. :(

Missed this as I was out of pocket this weekend. Can you tell us where this can be acquired as I, too, am a Turquoise fiend!

Nice PIF. Congrats to the recipient!! :D

So, what's your point?

You can find it at any Müllers department store in Germany.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm using USPS to save on expenses.

The good news is it arrived yesterday.

The bad news is that the little plastic bag that had the ink in it had burst open during transit. I suppose it got crushed while going through the USPS processing machinery :( .

The ink around the hole on the edge of the envelope did look interesting.

Thanks for the effort though.

Sorry the ink vial broke. I think I will have enough ink left to you another sample, but I need to send out the other rest of the samples.

Give me another week as my grad studies have reached the peak of the semester.

The second package arrived, and intact!

And there are two vials of ink in it.

Thanks a lot, especially for the second effort  , and I look forward to trying these inks out soon.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
