Pen Posse Are We Out Of Ink Yet Edition

AltecGreen

Recommended Posts

Time to swap the ink stations. Are we out of ink yet? I suspect we will discuss the recent Pelikan Hubs and the Bonham's auction in HK. We also will think about getting the ink stations stowed away for the holidays. Anyone need Ink Station #1? If no one wants it, I'm leaving it at home.

I'll be there and will be bringing Ink Station #5!

Was #5 the one with the limited edition Iroshizuku inks?

Was #5 the one with the limited edition Iroshizuku inks?

It has the following Iroshizuku inks on it:

401 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series Murasaki-Shikibu

402 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series Shin-kai

403 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series Shin-ryoku

404 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series Syo-ro (Pine Tree Dew)

405 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series Take-sumi

406 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series Tsuki-yo (Moonlight-light blue-black)

407 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series Tsukushi (Horse Tail brown)

408 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series Tsutsuji (Azalea)

409 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series Tsuyu-kusa (Spiderwort)

410 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series Yama-budo (Wild or Mountain Grape)

411 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series Yama-guri (Wild Chestnut)

412 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series Yu-Yake (Sunset/orange)

413 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series (Tokyo Limited Edition) Fukugawa Nezu

414 Pilot - Iroshizuku Series (Tokyo Limited Edition) Shimbashi Iro

Only 413 and 414 have LE explicitly in the name. I don't think the other ones are LEs?

What is wrong with the pen? I may be able to fix it.

A MB 747? Must be a gold filled version (and here I thought Loren carried a 744... ) :) :)

I hope things got sorted out... being stuck in travel limbo is never fun (unless there is a good MB boutique in the airport you're stuck in - in which case look for ink :)

You are close. lsmith is speaking in a code. What he said is MB-Asia released 1500 bottles of MB Racing Green from the archive stock and he is bringing back as many bottles as he can carry.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
