Getting My Duke D190 And D191 To Post With The Clip Out Of My Way

I've mentioned elsewhere that the Duke D190 and D191 have a screw-on post. They also have multiple threads.

 

Multiple threads are defined by Merriam-Webster as follows:

 

a screw thread composed of two or more distinct parallel intertwined threads or helices

 

The benefit of multiple threads is that they require fewer turns to cap or un-cap, or to post or un-post. I love the fact that one-half turn does the job with these pens. It's very fast.

 

It screws on to post. But I was annoyed that the clip was in my way when posted.

 

Then it dawned on me that multiple threads have multiple starting points. With these pens, if I start posting with the clip at 6 o'clock, it stops one-half turn later at 12 o'clock - which is out of the way and just where I want it.

 

But if I start the thread with the clip at 12 o'clock, it stops one-half turn later at 6 o'clock, which is the crotch of my thumb. Starting with the clip at 12 o'clock must have been natural for me because I put up with this annoyance for months before realizing the simple solution.
