Received My New Pelikan M600 Pink

Lovely in your photos. Glad you pointed out it's the same colour as the ribbons and box interior - quite amazing how different the reflective surface is when photographed sometimes. I do prefer the raspberry/cherry orientation rather than Barbie.

I was quite surprised to see the actual color. I'm really pleased with it.

I just heard that mine has arrived at my mum's house. I really want to just take the train and go there as soon as possible. Can't wait to have it in my hands.

Let us know what you think when you get it :).

Doing a quick search for pink inks:

  • Diamine - Hope Pink
  • J.Herbin - Bouquet d'Antan (Boutquet of Yesteryear Pink)
  • Mont Blanc - Pink
  • Pilot Iroshizuku - Kosumosu and Tsutsuji

Nagasawa Kobe #12 Okamoto Pink is a nice "grown-up" pink.

Mine is currently filled with MB Pink and I've got PR Rose Rage, Bung Box Mother Pink and PE Turmaline waiting in the wings. Sheaffer pink is another option.

There are some gorgeous pink inks out there! PE Turmaline is beautiful. I like Pilot Iroshizuku Momiji on my computer screen but i don't know if it's pink or not. Kosumosu and Tsutsuji are both gorgeous.

Momiji is more reddish magenta to me. I agree completely about Kosumosu and Tsut-suji - beautiful pinks. A nice but more muted pink is De Atramentis Cherry Blossom.

Well, I tried holding an M600 yesterday at the Commonwealth Pen Show (at least the guy at the table *said* it was an M600) so I know now that it would be a good size, and not that much bigger and heavier than the M400s are.

Now all I have to do is figure out some nefarious plot whereby I can achieve the requisite amount of cash before the pink ones are sold out. Without getting caught, of course.... ;)

Good to know about the size/weight relative to the M400s. I wasn't so sure about the M600s (I have petite hands) or this pink color. The photos above have helped assure me that it is a nice shade of pink. Hmmm ... the tricky part is the "not getting caught" thing. How fast will the pink sell out?

A friend of mine bought one. I was very pleased with the color. She has it inked with Pilot Iroshizuku Kosumosu (Cherry Blossom) and it seemed like a perfect match to me. I was a little surprised, she's mocked me for matching ink to pens for years.

@Anntee: I have it for over a month now and am still completely in love with it. It's a very smooth writing pen even in extra fine. I would totally buy another pelikan after this I'm even thinking about giving my SO one for his birthday!

@Angela: I currently have it inked up with an ink sample of Kosumosu that I got from a very kind member of this forum, it's a very fine ink indeed and it matches the pen so well. I also tried Montblanc's Pink (which unfortunately was a limited edition ink) and I have to say that one looks very similar . I personally prefer Kosumosu though.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
