fwiw Cult Pens has it listed as in stock. Yes, here we go, but not Royal Blue.

CultPens have Royal Blue - at least they did when I looked earlier this morning :-)

Not there now. Unless it is listed for everyone else, and the age-old battle between Devon and Cornwall has reached a new, highly selective, ink-deprivation stage... :glare: :D

How weird. When I look in the Ink Colour selection drop-down menu, there is Royal Blue, listed with all the other colours. Perhaps I'm hallucinating...... :-)

Ah I apologise. Grainweevil is right & I'm wrong. The "Email when in stock message" didn't show up on my phone.

We have them in stock... Enough for everyone on FPN!

Also the midnight blue, and also the bottles

Thank you for the great news! Would you know if either of the Midnight Blue or Deep Sea Green are document inks, like some of the other GvFC inks?

Quick swabs of the new blue & green inks. They're lovely - they have a soft, vintage feel & are very elegant.

I wanted to order 4 bottles from Appleboom, but apparently they only offer expedited FedEx delivery, cost prohibitive................... 25 Euros for shipping 4 bottles.

I have sent an email to Graf Von Faber US asking when the new inks will be available at US Retailers..will post when I receive reply.

The Fedex delivery is only 3 euro's more expensive compared to regular post, so we choose to speed up the delivery by around 10 days for the 3 euro extra.

Unfortunately shipping to the USA is not so cheap...

Shipping anywhere internationally these days is never cheap. Comparatively, I don't think €25 is too bad actually. To ship 4 bottles of GvFC ink (which are some of the heaviest ink bottles) the other way, from US to Europe, would probably cost more. US postage is ridiculously expensive and is often prohibitive; even the basic USPS 1st class international is pricey.

Nice!

Isn't Midnight Blue close to Kobe Kano-Cho #51?

Update:

Appelboom: I placed an order for 4 bottles of GVFC bottled inks after all. (including the 2 new ones - Deep Sea Green and Midnight Blue) Joost Appleboom was very helpful and accommodating....and he found a less expensive alternative for shipping the 4 bottles to the USA...I AM VERY PLEASED and hope to purchase from Appelboom again in the near future. I am a firm believer in supporting people/businesses who go above and beyond....his communication was also very very prompt.

So for anyone in the USA who is interested in the NEW and NOT RELEASED (see below) in the USA bottled inks...I strongly suggest you contact Appelboom in the Netherlands...in fact I would contact Appelboom for any product you are looking to purchase.

I also spoke with GVFC - USA today...the Retail rep had no idea...never heard of the new inks, and said the green I must be referring to is Moss Green...she then transferred me to someone else who never returned the call.

It didn't sound as though the new GVFC inks are being released in the USA anytime soon...really disappointing when a distributor's representative doesn't have a clue about Products.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
