Darker Green

I am just starting to dip my toes (dip my nib?) in the waters of ink mixing, because I've struggled to find the right deep, well saturated dark green. I love Zhivago as a daily writer but it's too black to show green always. But many greens are too bright to use to take notes or annotate papers. So I finally decided to try some mixing and after taking small amounts of Chesterfield (Diamine) Emerald and adding a few drops of Sheaffer Skrip Black, I believe I've gotten the very green but dark and well saturated color I was looking for. Of course it works better as a color in some pens than others but it's very nice in both Fine and Medium nibbed pens. I put the ink in a small glass vial and each time I'll want to mix some up, I just put in the Emerald first and gradully add drops of black till it's the darkness I want.

I love dark greens myself, and I have a sample of Zhivago, so I know what you mean. Diamine Black Green (or is it Green Black?) is a commercially available favorite.

I just bought Sailor Jentle Miruai..gorgeous dark green.

I'm not very good at scanning so this seems a bit lighter/less saturated than in real life, but you maybe get the general idea.

I like it. A nice, medium green that reminds me somewhat of JH Lierre Sauvage.
