To answer the original question - if your pen cap seals properly, Parker Penman Sapphire doesn't dry out in the nib and clog it. I have had it in a Kaigelu 316 for several months. it sits unused ( but not unloved) for weeks at a time. It has never dried out in the nib and clogged up.

My Parker Sonnet, of a similar vintage to PPS (both were brought out by Parker at the same time) would dry out in the nib in a couple of days.

With a Parker 45 Flighter I bought recently came 2 cartridges of ink. One is stamped "Sapphire". I have yet to use it.

That's amazing, hope you enjoy it.

Further to an earlier posting by EoC, this one requests information on acquiring a small sample of PPS for educational purposes. It is understood that this one is not exactly popular but the request must be made nevertheless. Perhaps EoC could be directed to a person who may be willing to sell 2ml of said ink?

I think it's one ink that will never be tagged as "unloved".

For me I have been fortunate to have few bottles so I am using it as my daily ink, I have ordered few shady sheeny inks to try, but I doubt anything will come even close to it.

Hello,

As I said I have been fortunate to have few bottles of the parker penman, and I was really thinking of sharing a bottle with others who have not tried it, the problem for me is the postage, sending small samples of 2-3 ml, postage very unreliable and very expensive (TBH I don't even know if I can post or not, I have to check to see if there is that service, living in a 3rd world country is not easy).

but I have just got an idea, will contact someone and see how it works.

Best regards.

Ah, the joys and tribulations of English, even for one who has been a native speaker of the language for more than a handful of decades.

Referring to the bold face section above. The first it referred to the ink. The second it referred to the pen the ink was sitting in. I should have been more careful. However, northstar's interpretation of my careless English is equally valid and true.

And EoC has happy news, another member on a forum far, far away, has suggested a way to make this littlest of dreams come true. This one offers thanks to northstar, but will no longer require aid.

Hello,

It's definitely good news, and congrats for the dream that is coming true.

Actually I have contacted another member to work on a PPS PIF project, still waiting for reply. I have had several others asking for samples of PPS, so decided to do something about it, let's hope it will works.

Best regards.

Hello,

I am not a native English speaker, so the misinterpretation is my fault ( it happens many times, and many times I fail to express myself in a decent English, so people missunderstand/misinterpret me).

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
