Lawrence Block, the mystery writer, posted this on his Facebook page today, under the title 'Why cursive is dying out:':

He asked me to sell his Montblanc Agatha Christie -- gifted to him by Montblanc when it first came out -- a couple of years ago. He's a keyboard man (I still love his work anyway).

My first thought on seeing this was, "Hey, you knew you weren't going to get anything impressive with a circle that small. Quit'cha whinin'!"

Instructions in cursive, thoughts in print. Basis of the joke is a misreading of the instructions and summoning a lemon instead of a demon

Freewriting is a good way to summon a demon. Works for me, anyway.

What's the problem?

Every time I write, I summon a lemon ... with a gin & tonic around it.

Mind you, with all that spirit sloshing around, it might be a demon after all.
