Beautiful pen. My pre-order is in. Only downside I see is the lack of an ink window.

I put my pre order in with Iguana sell as soon as I found this one! Personally I like the lack of an ink window. I think the window would detract from the overall beauty of the pen.

I pre-ordered mine through Marco at Novelli. I believe I agree with Jeff on aesthetic grounds, but it is nice to be able to see that your ink is running low.

Add me to the list of potential buyers/users that would prefer an ink view.

Does anyone know how many of these will be made. They apparently aren't a numbered edition.

A limited production run but not numbered. No specific quota. They basically just make them until they don't.

It struck me as a very classic orange from Germany when I saw it on the other thread. It's very similar to my mom's '73 BMW 2002 in Colorado. I've got mine from Fritz Schimpf for $373 in EF. If my M400 F is any indication, the EF will be more like a Medium.

I also pre-ordered from Fritz Schimpf. That price is unbeatable.

Looks very similar to the colour of the GvFC Intuition Terra, which is an amazingly well designed and engineered pen.

That being said, I don't find this color scheme all too attractive.

I'm in agreement. Orange doesn't do much for me -- as a pen color OR an ink color. While I have to say it's an attractive enough pen, the only way I'm getting one is if someone buys it for me (and if they're gonna spend that much on a pen, I can think of Pels that are much more appealing to me -- even that pink 600...). I much prefer the look of the M200 Café Crème. And someday I hope to be able to afford a striated blue M400.... Orange? not so much.

Thats what I got from Fritz Schimpf too. Maybe September is when they shipping them out to vendors and October is when they get released to the customers?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
