Is The Mb Boheme A Ladies Pen?

I phoned a Montblanc boutique and they will only replace with the same colour.

I never thought of asking a jeweller though

The 149 is a woman's pen - strong, curvaceous and responsive to handling.

The Boheme is a man's pen - retractable and designed to hide inside clothing. :lticaptd: :bunny01:

+1!

But then feminine, to me, is graduating from the Army Ranger school after carrying the backpacks of the guys that were too tired. With four 149s in my collection, I'm biased.

I never knew they did a 'black' stone.

Do you think the Montblanc store can replace it with a 'black' stone, if yes problem solved :)

That's the one I was talking about, that I sold. It's called Boheme Marron with black stone and rose gold trim

Hi,

I have recently purchased this 'beautiful' MB Boheme and therein lies my issue.

I can't help feeling that it is a ladies pen as it is so beautiful.

Please don't suggest removing the red stone as this is not an option.

Does anyone else feel the same or am I about to get ostracised?

Well. Hello..Welcome Aboard....Pull up a chair put your feet up..

relax..and enjoy your time here..On to the business on hand..

Nice pen..congratulations..beautiful pen..Ain't feminine..Nope..

Well..we'll call it a unisex pen...There wasn't that helpful....

I wouldn't think of suggesting such drastic measures....Never.

Yo..Pal..I don't feel that..whatsoever..and no one is gonna

go after you.................There..hope this was helpful....

Your friend and mine....

Hmm - ya might just want to keep this in mind - from the MB web site:

Well, that settles it. I guess the "oversize" Boheme was for a bloke lady like this:

The AK-47 was designed with men in mind, but that never stopped me from slapping in a banana clip and making the objective mine. All in your point of view. I've never been one for paying attention to anyone who wanted to limit me based on my XX chromosomes.

Any male willing to give up a perfectly nice pen based on the color of a tiny chip of stone or some other marketing ploy is just begging to be sold some other line of... I think I have a bridge sitting around here somewhere. Let me check.

This makes me feel so much better dealing with my secret fondness of J. Herbin's Rouille D'Ancre in the Heritage 1912- something about these two together *sigh* :happycloud9:

Never understood the 'girl pen' thing. If you like it then use it. My silver Marlene Dietrich may have some form of girly tag applied to it but there is no way it influenced my use of it.

What man would not want to hold and use Marlene Dietrich or Grace Kelly or Sophia Loren or Astrud Gilberto?

Astrud Gilberto?

Oh my, I had to Google her. Yup, if they make a pen in her honor I'd even fill it with pink ink.

Don't find the Boheme with red gemstone any more feminine nor masculine than the 149 or any of the other MB line up (maybe with the exception of the Grace Kelly pen).

Think the reference "Designed with ladies in mind..." is MB marketing ploy to draw attention to this pen to the ladies because of the ruby gemstone.

It's a handsome looking pen and the ruby gemstone just adds to it's elegance.

Think so - although we never see "Designed with men in mind..." on the other pens.

I wonder if the pen was designed by a woman or a man?

It's not to my taste - largely because of the imitation jewel in the clip. I quite like the plain Boheme, though.

Enjoyed reading this thread - and coming down heavily on the side of pens being gender free zones, despite Bic's recent plea to the contrary.

Thanks.

I wouldn't mind a Bordeaux "Racquel Welch" in 149 size, "strong, curvaceous and responsive to handling." I have been very young in 1966, during the release of "One Million Years BC".

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
