Hello kind sirs and ladies,

I recently acquired this Mabie Todd 313 long dip nib that had been installed in a Watermans #12 eyedropper. This is my first dip nib, my first Mabie Todd, and my oldest pen by at least a couple decades. A sample via dip test follows below.

Beautiful nib & ink!

Thanks! I’ve had a lot of fun blending the various Rohrer & Klingner colors.

Goudy, what an extraordinary collection you have. Some of the most beautiful nibs I have seen.

This thread is a joy to read through. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I've not got any Mabie Todd dip nibs, yet - but am just getting into the joys of dip pens and the astonishing variety they can offer us. It's all very exciting!

Thanks

Heres another ink mix that I enjoy. Written with my 313 #2 posted above.

I'm not sure if this is the complete set of MT dip nibs, but it's something to aim for (selected pages from the 1903 MT & Bard catalogue at PCA

Hi,

wow, so many extraordinary pens and nibs here in this great thread! Many thanks!

About the 1903 catalogue one question:

Did anybody write with such a non stubbish music nib? Or can show us one of them?

Best regards

Jens

I don't own any of the nibs on that page of the catalogue. They seem to be among the rarest of the MT dip nibs.

Here's a No.7 spade nib that was on eBay a few years ago:

I already own a few pens and at the time hunting on every possibility to add more pen to a collection.

It'll be wonderful to own one of these dip nibs but it is only a dream.

Thank you all for share all your experience and the knowledge on Mabie here. :yikes:

I bought a few pens last year and again I bought two nibs last week.

One nib is a semi-flex beautiful fine medium writer. It is already installed on a pen.

The other nib is going back to the seller again as I cant use that nib and it is very tiny. It is marked H and a Swan is engraved on it. I don't know what pen it takes.
