thank you for the review

Is it the same as the ink in Pilot Namiki blue cartridges? If so I was planning to get the bottled version. I like that colour very much

Regards

I have heard (but can't confirm) it's the same ink as can be found in the cartridges (at least, I can't tell the difference), but a different ink than that found in the squat, round Namiki bottle. Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable can chime in.

Thank you!!!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Thanks for the review. This is a blue I intend to use as soon as the number of similar inks on my desk decreases.

Thank you for the review! This is a nice looking blue! Do you know who it behaves with cheap copy paper?

Hmm, not very well, I'm afraid:

It behaves very well on cheap paper, if you use a fine enough nib and/or a dry enough pen. It works well in My Lamy 2000 EF and in all of my Japanese fine nibs. I use it as my everyday ink.

have been using this, off and on, for years and thoroughly enjoy it.

it performs well AND, yes, I like the bottle too!

I really like this ink, but I am the only one that complains about it being hard to clean. Every blue Pilot ink I have has some component for water resistancy that adheres to converters and feeds, it only comes out with scrubbing and ammonia solution. This is a terrible ink for piston pens! The others ink with the same behavior is the blue-black and Shin-Kai.

I've definitely experienced that with the blue-black, Shin-kai, and Kon-peki, but I can't say I've noticed it with this ink... At least, I've used it my Custom Heritage 92s with no issues.

One of the squat bottles of Namiki blue came with a pen I bought at the DC show. Will have to give it a try. Don't have any Pilot blue for comparison, although I'm interested in the Pilot Blue-Black.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
