Looking forward to the show! what do you expect to find. Except pens.

Pens is what you go there for but do you want to find Inks too or Paper. What is lacking on penshows?

Yes. Kinda green on the pen show front ;)

I read up on the Us shows and noticed a lot of paper lovers too.

What sort of brands do you miss? are there brands lacking on the European market?

Certainly coming. Looking forward.

It appears Fred Fagionato will be coming to show his very nice pens, too

Alas CONID will not be there.

I am planning to be there too :).

I'll try to be a lot earlier this time around. Weather permitting, I may be travelling by motorbike :).

I'll bring a few pens for show and tell, if you like, including my one and only CONID pen, plus my pocket nib enhancement tools.

Warm regards, Wim

I can't. I just read on Fred FB page he is planning to come.

I even don't know if he is a member here.

Apart from that, this part of our forum is for announcements and such about Penshows, pen clubs and the like, not for advertisements for or by individual sellers.

There is a chance however there will be a model of our special CONID FPN 11yr celebration LE, if Wim can make it. We won't have a table there, however. So no FPN inks, alas.

I'll see if I can make it this year. It's a very busy time at work and personally but the biggest problem is walking around and seeing all those mouth-watering offerings without having the right budget. I'm afraid I've been rather extravagant with pens in the first half of the year ...

Ok D.Ick thanks for your reply.

I thought that it was fine for members to post pictures of tables etc at pen shows in a sort of show and tell of some of the interesting stuff like the posts for Washington, SF etc. My apologies if I misunderstood. I am not affiliated to Fred in any way whatsoever.

I hope the fpn pens are there, I would like to see them and am I am sorry I will miss that. Perhaps CONID might bring a sample to London show if I am lucky.

Oh yes, you can post pics from tables afterwards so people know what they have missed... :D Please do.

And if you have pics from last year, DO post them here, so people will get an idea of what to expect. Attendance by vendors changes every year. Last year there was a Belgian table selling leftover from a shop that had stopped. Got some great Waterman and Perkers, there for sumgai prices. But ofcourse these won't be there this year.

But no extensive advertisements in advance. Saying "I will be there with some nice offers on brand XYZ" is ok, but you would have to leave the details for your website, or for "the Mall"

In my case I am not sure how late I'll be there and how long. There is a chance my wife also will go to Tilburg and does not want to hang around for too long. (she is not a FP-person although by now she does use one sometimes)

My girlfriend didn't like FPs at all, and thought I was crazy when I bought a "cheap" pen some years ago (just 90 euro's).

By looking through magazines, she started to point out what she thought was beautiful, and nowadays I'm not always the first one to read PenWorld or Penna.

She also now owns six FPs, and next week she'll have her first Pelikan (pink).

My advise, take it slow, and let her decide what is beautiful, and go from there.

The shows are not her thing for a whole day, after about two hours, she'll go to the movies or on a shopping spree. Gives me the opportunity to spend my money....

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
