I just recieved a Montegrappa Fortuns Skull pen for my birthday and would like to get the nib exchanged from an M to a B.

 

It was purchased from a dealer in NYC but I'm told that I have to go direct to Montegrappa to get the nib exchanged, does anyone have contact info for that in the US?

Ask for Ryan. I have had nothing but exceptional service from him for both Montys and Omas. You're lucky that Yafa isn't the US distributor. What a pain they are to deal with.

I called and spoke with customer service. Apparently they do not do service, they send everything back to Italy, hence the $35.00 service fee. I told them all I wanted was to swap a M nib for a B nib and they told me they would make an exception and only charge me $10. Just have to wait for the nib to come back into stock.

Thought I might follow up on this, after contacting Kenro last and speaking with Ryan I was told they would contact me when the nibs were in stock. That was 9 months ago, I've left messages for them and never received a call back.

 

I'll eventually use the pen as is but not impressed to say the least.

Of course, had you sent the pen to Kenro to send to Italy it would have returned long ago with the nib that you wanted.

Sorry, I don't buy into that. They told me they would swap the nib out, an unused M for an unused B, they didn't do it.

 

At least return my emails or phone calls....

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
