The Travelling Arts Journal

I would like to be part of this if possible. I can't really draw though, but I can pick out a good poem from this part of the world if that is acceptable?

I'm presently up to my neck in Nanowrimo (writing a 50,000 word novel in the month of November--see nanowrimo.org). I'm hoping to have completed the novel (really, anything you write that fast is only a very rough draft) by Thanksgiving.

If I receive the journal before the last week of November, it may have to sit for a bit until I get Nanowrimo squared away. If you want to keep the journal moving in November, would you consider bumping me a spot or two lower on the list?

Where's our lovely journal at now? Although I've had my turn already, it's fun to keep track of it.

Good question. Seeing this thread back in play made me realize that I have no idea when it's getting to me and whether it will arrive before I have to leave town for the holidays....

As far as I am aware, it is still in Malta with Inky Fingers. Have sent several PM's with no reply. Hopefully she is okay...

ETA: Just spoke with Inky Fingers. She is fine... just got busy is all. Ready to post the journal. Yay!

Good news. :) I was beginning to get worried our 'baby' was adrift in the world with no home to call its own. Glad Inky Fingers is OK and hope she had lots of fun playing with the journal. Is 'the guest' still travelling with it?

As far as I know, Uncial never received it. Will attempt to contact Inky Fingers again...

I'd love to do this one too!!!

There has not been any news, fountainpagan... which is beyond upsetting as all of the contributions so far have been unseen by most.

I've written her a letter and sent it off a few days ago. Will post the response or lack thereof.

I have spoken to her, on the phone, just now.

She says she has not received any messages!!!

I responded that anyhow she knows she has something that doesn't belong to her for more than 2 months, and that that is something one doesn't do.

I said, "just send it, don't draw or anything, because obviously you lack time, or will, so... just send it"! She says she is going to send it on wendnesday.

So, we will see.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
