The Travelling Arts Journal

Recommended Posts

The post office says the journal was delivered to you on the 1st, along with another, smaller package I sent you. I hope they both arrived in good shape.

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

I've read every post and enjoyed following the ups and downs of the journal's travels. So what has happened since April? Is the journal lost again? Who has it? Is the journey over? Will the pages every be shown to the world? This is better than a murder mystery!

I got an error message when I tried to click on the link.... :(

Not sure why, given that I was one of the early participants....

It's the Send-around-book thread. I'm sure I don't understand why it would cause an error when you're trying to go to it.

Still getting an error message. :(

It says this (copied and pasted from the error message page):

Sorry, we couldn't find that!

:(

Wondering now if this is some sort of thing that is being blocked by Ghostery and/or my ad-blocker software? Because, sorry, that stuff just *isn't* coming down. I had too many problems before that all was installed on my laptop: not just with spam ads, nearly all of which had precisely *zero* to do with pens -- and a couple of which were for products/services which were out and out illegal in the Commonwealth of PA :o (those got reported directly to Wim, BTW) -- but *also* because the ads were sucking up bandwidth and I'd suddenly have a blank page below a certain point of scrolling down (and then again when I'd scroll back up ).

So, for those who CAN access the link, what does it say?

So do I. And I can't find a "send around book" thread, by visual scan or by using "search".

Sorry that is a restricted forum.

So, the book is back in hand.

Who wants to be next in the list?

We are creating a special way of tracking it but do not want your names and addresses in the public threads.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I would love to be next, as long as I'm not cutting in front of anyone else who may have been in line in front of me.

I can't wait for the book to be finished, and get to see what all was added since I had it.

Well, since I have read every single post I think I should participate and not just be a lurker. Please add me to the list to receive the book.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
