Dear friends,

 

At Iguana Sell we are very pleased to inform you that Pelikan has a new star coming out very soon! :D (Another one, yes!!)

 

This time, is the Maki-e Autumn Flowers, using transparent red and black lacquer stripes and precious materials as the blue pearl particles which were added to the flower that appears in this Fountain Pen.

 

One of the techniques used is called Kakiwari, which only a few highly skilled artists can do, it has an incredible three dimensional effect.

 

The result is a masterpiece that combines German craftsmanship, with more than 175 years of tradition, technology, and very delicate painting techniques, as the very famous Kaga-Togidashi-Taka-Maki-e.

 

Each pen is individually numbered and signed by the artist. This series is limited to only 88 pieces worldwide. Each model has a bicolor 18k gold nib and is presented in a charming traditional Japanese box made of Paulownia wood.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
