It looks like they just sell S.T. DuPont. Curious why they thought Art Brown's name would help. Please report back.

I need to look into this myself as well

Those who hurt me were not only someone else,

but also those who pretended not to notice. It was my friend.

Interesting. I will keep this in mind when I go to NYC next -- that's within walking distance of my sister-in-law's. I can take the subway down to FPH, and then instead of getting off at Herald's Square stay on till Times Square or so on the way back.

Thanks for the heads up. I know diddly about the brand but I'm always willing to look.

It's nice to see the Art Brown name being revived, I will have to look into their shop next time I get into New York.

Looks like they have very limited product line up. The old Art Brown in the 70's and 80's was like a Disneyland for a pen geek. I bought a bunch of Rapidographs and ink there. I even bought my first Montblanc there, a QuickPen for twenty three dollars with three refills included. I remember wishing I could have afforded one of their one hundred dollar pens at the time.

I haven't been to the New York Jewelry Center building in a long time, but just keep in mind that the ST Dupont shop is located in the center itself. Some of the tenants shops are pretty small, so just keep expectations as I doubt very much that anything near the size of the original Art Brown or the current Fountain Pen Hospital. If you're looking for some places for ink, pencils, paper, stationary and journals, you may want to check out the Kinokuniya store near Bryant Park.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
