I have been looking for Iron Gall inks in my area and online but the only ink I am able to find is Diamine registrars which is out of my reach. I know there is R&K salix as well but I cannot find it online or any place in my area.

Try Pensavenue.com also. It is a Mumbai based company which is also present in e-commerce. Their iron galls are Salix and Scabiosa, which presently are not in their stocks (as per their website).

I was doing some research and found out that hero blue black is an Iron gall ink. I found a seller on ebay for the same. Does anyone have experience with hero blue black #232?

.I have a few bottles of Hero 232 (blue black) and while it says nowhere that it is Iron Gall ink, that's how it behaves, except that I find it to be relatively wet (a plus). It darkens after you write although the color is already very dark so the effect is subtle. No matter, this is a very nice ink and not expensive....

worthwhile to stock up!

Not anymore. The cartridges were IG for longer than the bottled ink, but I don't know if they're still IG

Why do you expel the possibility to obtain iron gall inks from outside India? My favorite iron gall ink is ESSRI with which I have good writing experiences on all kinds of paper, including cheap (copier) paper. According to the website of the manufacturer you can order ESSRI ink worldwide in a plastic airmail 110 ml bottle for currently GBP 9,20 (UK delivery) or GBP 10,50 (international delivery). There is however a caveat. Direct sunshine/light will cause the ESSRI ink to break down and throw a sediment, so it is better not used in transparent pens.

Yes I know about ESSRI but getting anything through indian customs is a super duper pain. So, I was thinking of the hero and the other options. If I don't find any, then I will either order diamine registrars or ESSRI.

I cannot find anywhere on the net where it says that hero  232 is an iron gall ink.. All that I can find is that they think it is an Iron gall ink. Now the only thing that can be done is that buy the ink myself and compare it to other inks...

I ordered the hero 232 and received it  day before yesterday. It does behave like and iron gall ink (from what I have read about Ig inks). I just checked and wikipedia says that hero 232 is an Ig ink.

Yup, I am! :D . It is really fascinating to see the ink change from a normal blue to a very dark and saturated blue-looking when curled into letters using my Parker frontier.
