Purpleish Red Velvet Ink

I made this ink a couple minutes ago. with an entire beet

125 ml of water (1/2 a cup for Americans)

approx. 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of Vinegar

5 g of salt (about a teaspoon)

put it to a boil and then drain

cool off for 5 minutes and you can use immediately

I used a jinhao x450 so that I would be depressed if I lost it

but it came out perfect for me so :)))) also I added a bit of perfume

because the vinegar smells beyond gross and the perfumes masks it

I wanted to use a pen I could sacrifice if the ink went downhill but it didnt so :lol:

Pretty cool! I once tried to make ink with tea, but it didn't come out all that good.

 

May I ask what the vinegar and salt are for?

vinegar is to make the bacteria not grow

salt is to preserve it

You might want to try whole cloves instead of vinegar and salt. I understand cloves work well for both a preservative and to keep the bacteria from growing. Smells good, too, so no need for perfume.
