July 18 at 11:30, at The Fox & The Fiddle at 280 Bloor Street West.

Hi guys! We've been hit or miss this summer, as things tend to be during the summer. Still, I'm making a concentrated effort to make it to the July meet, and I wanted to list this early so people can have the chance to chat about the meet and let me know if they are coming. If we are a small enough group, it might be nice to kick it old school and head out to the cheesecake place again. :)

So, who's coming?

Also, what about TR group order? I have just gotten the details for someone selling the 68 gsm TR paper. Anyone interested?

I'm a maybe for the pen meet up. But more likely to be at the meeting than not. Hoping as many people can come out as possible on a lovely Saturday.

Let's talk DC Pen show as a few members are booked and packed to explore the big show.

Sorry, a bit off topic, but do you all know about the Vintage Pen Sale at Wonder Pens in August that Liz is planning? 1 - 5 pm Sunday 16th August. Should be fun.

I vote for canceling the meet. There are only a few people going and it is going to be SUPER hot.

I don't have AC at home, but I still want to lay around and try to move as little as possible all weekend.

Either way, one of my pets is sick and I have to stay home with her to medicate her and monitor her, so I can't make it either. And I haven't managed to get my fosters adopted and I have no one to look after them, so I can't go to the DC show this year, sadly. :(

Sounds like it was you me and Anwar for today. If people want to jump on the bandwagon I am driving down in hopes of seeing my coffee pot to put in my DC order and maybe swing over to Montblanc.

Simone, I hope the pet is ok and I totally understand the loved ones come first. I am not headed to DC either this year. Maybe next year for me. The dollar rebounding by then may help too.

Hi, the last post I read this morning sounded like it was a no go. Had I gotten on line after that I would have realized that a few would be there and I would have gone over. My fault. But I will try again the next time I'm in town. My wife and I have a place here and in Massachusetts too so we are back and forth during the year. I hope our dates coincide soon, I'm looking forward to meeting all of you.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
