Saw this on the NPR new website - it rang a bell with me.

I told a smart a$$ young IT guy this when he asked me why I was bothering to use a binder for my server notes.

"A pencil and paper still work when you have a power failure, while your documentation are locked up in your computer."

All he said was "oh," and walked off.

 

I have many cases around the house where it is just more convenient to have a paper binder to use to reference stuff and write things down, than going upstairs to the computer (which is off), powering it up, and looking for the documentation on the computer.
