Think it's the BEST LOOKING skeleton I've ever seen and it's amazingly beautiful!

Last week I ordered two bottles of "Blue Hour Fountain Pen Ink" from the Montblanc Boutique.

Got a call within a minute from same Boutique to verify my order for two "Blue Hour Skeleton Fountain Pens"

Almost had a heart attack.

Wow. Not only a gorgeous pen, but a very nicely designed box.

Father's day is coming up in case anyone was thinking of giving me a present...

Indeed, that is stunning.

I'll be vulgar. How much?

Dunno what retail is, but erfobay on ebay had one up for $8900 USD.

Current Wishlist:

Visconti, Visconti, and...more Visconti! (And some ST Duponts too). (Ok fine, getting on the Omas and Montblanc trains now too. Toot toot.) (And maybe on the Montegrappa one too, but only for the Miyas.)

Thank you all for your kind replies.

Just one remark, MB offers the pen in the box, no gizmos, no inkpot, no penstand, nadda, rien, nichts. A normal 149 has an inkpot in the box, not this one.

Alas not all 149 boxes come with ink.

I'm pretty sure if you buy it from an MB boutique, you can get at least one bottle of ink thrown in. :)

Good grief. That nib looks like it comes off a cheap Chinese pen.

The Montblanc boutique in Sydney gives you the pen for free but charges you $10K for the bottle of ink

Gorgeous pen!

The nib might have looked better with a more organic engraving that mimics the outside of the pen. But I could live with it :)

Beautiful Pen, Thank you for sharing.

I am also contemplating on getting either the 90th skeleton or the Blue hour skeleton.

Would you care to give an estimated weight for each pen?

Thank you

Thanks for sharing this magnificent pen with us. The combination of blue and platinum is just stunning.

This is by far the most beautiful skeleton Montblanc has ever made.

Kind regards,

Sny

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
